Anti-Theft
Due to the high price and high rate of duty on fuel, it becomes an attractive target for theft; particularly where a company has a private fuel storage facility on-site, for example, a transport company, a mining company or a biofuel manufacturer.
Dyes or markers can be used to differentiate the fuel from those available in the petrol stations. The existence of the dyes or markers can be easily identified visually or by a simple test to provide evidence when fuel theft has occurred. The addition of dyes and markers has proved to be a good tool to control and monitor fuel theft taking place on-site. By making all the employees aware of the addition of either product, a company can discourage the fuel theft behaviour within the company.
