Position:  Export Sales Executive

We are seeking to recruit an Export Sales Executive to join our existing Sales Team with our market leading chemical manufacturing company based in Trafford Park, Manchester.

Our customer base is predominantly the petrochemical industry and therefore our ideal candidate will be an astute graduate with a minimum of 3 years B2B sales experience in an export environment, preferably within a manufacturing company. 

The candidate must be an independent self-starter and have a proven track record in developing sales through relationship building and strong negotiation and influencing skills.

Skills and Experience

In addition to the above, the candidate must be able to work on their own initiative organising their workload and managing a number of different sales territories and projects at any time.

The candidate will require excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive commercial relationships with customers that do not speak English as their first language.

Fluency in a foreign language, preferably French or Spanish would be advantageous.

It is essential that the candidate has strong numeracy skills, is highly computer literate and has a full driving licence.

Role

The successful candidate will report to the General Sales Manager and will be responsible for managing customer accounts and developing new sales in territories both within and outside of Europe.   

Key to this role will be the development of positive long term working relationships with direct customers in order to gain an excellent understanding of the market and identify and deliver sales growth.

Effective management, training and motivation of agents and distributors are also an important part of the role.

The Sales Team are also responsible for sales forecasting and reporting and maintaining existing and new market and customer information.

This role is predominantly office based in Manchester with some international travel.
