John Hogg is delighted to announce the successful achievement of the ISO14001:2015 certification, demonstrating the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and protecting the safety and wellbeing of its colleagues.
ISO 14001 is the internationally established benchmark for environmental management systems (EMS) which provide a structure for identifying, controlling, measuring and improving an organization’s environmental impact. The standard was developed to provide companies with a robust framework for better management control that can drive continuous improvement in reducing their environmental impact.
Awarded by the British Standards Institute, John Hogg’s ISO 14001 scope includes the development, manufacture and supply of specialist additives for the speciality chemical and petroleum industries, developed at the Trafford Park and Blackley sites. The certification aligns John Hogg with recent acquisition Avocet, who already have the certification for the Brighouse site.
“Achieving ISO 14001 accreditation is a significant milestone for us in our environmental improvement efforts and underlines our commitment to monitoring and improving our environmental performance” said Alan Hopper, SHE Manager at John Hogg.
“The environmental impact of our operations and products has understandably become increasingly important to us, our customers and our partners. Our new EMS provides a framework for proactively monitoring and managing our impacts and will play a crucial role in improving our sustainability and environmental footprint in the future” Alan added.
