Environment Policy

John Hogg Technical Solutions is a market leader in fuel marking technology and solvent dye manufacturing. For over 40 years, we have supported and supplied governments, and the petroleum, lubricant and speciality chemical industries. Today, our technical solutions define and distinguish brands, safeguard product quality, reduce fuel fraud, drive compliance and boost tax revenues in over 70 countries.

We recognise the importance of behaving as a responsible corporate citizen and making a positive contribution to society. We also acknowledge that our business activities have an impact on the environment, and we are committed to taking ownership of these impacts and aim to minimise them wherever possible. Our significant impacts are associated with energy use, manufacturing, transportation and waste, as well as the nature of our raw materials and finished products.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and seek to ensure that our actions enable the protection of the environment and the prevention of pollution. We are committed to the continual improvement of our environmental management system, satisfying all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and look to better our actions through continual research into best practice from our sector and peers. Our strategic goal is to achieve sustainable growth by continually meeting customer needs in existing markets and identifying and developing new markets without adversely affecting the environment.

To this end we will:

  • Monitor and evaluate our carbon footprint and put in place actions to reduce our use of gas
    and electricity;
  • Increase our use of energy from renewable sources;
  • Reduce waste at source and ensure that waste is appropriately managed, stored and
    disposed of;
  • Increase the use of recycled materials in packaging;
  • Reduce emissions of non-greenhouse gases from our business activities;
  • Look for feasible ways to reduce emissions across our value chain;
  • Begin to formalise our environmental measures in line with the requirements of our
    environmental management system;
  • Develop KPI’s to monitor our progress against key environmental impacts
    Begin reporting on scope 1 & 2 emissions;
  • Communicate our progress on sustainability to stakeholders and other interested parties;
  • Promote employee engagement with our environmental and sustainability culture and
    values.

This Policy is available on our website, the BOS and by request, to employees, customers and interested stakeholders. This Environmental Policy will be reviewed annually, or if there have been significant changes to the business, by our Environment team.
